Smarten Software provides Customer Care & Billing solution for Internet Services
Fixed line, mobile and internet, operator, Wind, selects Smarten R2 software
ISPCON 2000, London February 15, 2000 -- Smarten Software, a leading European
publisher of customer care and billing software for internet service providers,
announces today that Wind, the Italian fixed line, mobile and Internet Services
operator, owned by ENEL (largest Italian electric power production and
distribution company), France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom, has installed
Smarten R2 customer management and billing software for its Internet
customers.
"The use of Smarten R2 has enabled Wind to meet its commercial targets as
planned," said Dario Fares, Responsible for the Internet Project at Wind.
"Thanks to Smarten, Wind has realised an extremely ambitious time frame in
transporting its business-to-business Internet offers to the online marketplace,
while minimizing the impact upon Wind's organization. This has allowed Wind
management to focus upon and maintain their control on the running of day-to-day
activities."
"Smarten R2 integrates easily and quickly with existing Wind technology
platforms, plus Smarten R2 is extremely flexible for modelling new kinds of
contracts, managing customer feedbacks, and providing for the different
characteristics of Wind's own business-to-business Internet offers," added
Dario Fares.
Managing Director of Smarten Software, Claudio Vaccarella said: "The adoption of Smarten R2 by Wind, with approximately two million subscribers and the only totally convergent Italian provider of fixed line, mobile and Internet Services, shows that once again, Smarten Software offers the complete Customer Care and Billing solution for Internet Service Providers".
Wind is based upon a Sun Microsystems platform and uses Smarten R2 for the
provision, fulfillment and billing of its Internet services, incorporating
customer care, service modelling, accounting and billing. Wind selected Smarten
R2 as the customer care and billing system for its Internet Services in August
1999. Full implementation is planned for March 2000.
